This is an important contemporary cue: linguistic warmth without contextual precision frequently indicates machine-assisted generation. Modern language models now include “humanizer” prompts that insert emojis or softeners to appear personable, a practice described in recent AI-ethics studies as synthetic empathy (Bociga & Lord, 2025).

Recognizing that mixture of plausibility and carelessness became the inflection point. Instead of ignoring the message outright, I chose to treat it as an informal test case.
